• January to February: AFC Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia, 7 January to 5 February 2027, opening with Saudi Arabia against Palestine in Riyadh.
• March: Carabao Cup final at Wembley on Sunday 21 March.
• April: Copa del Rey final at La Cartuja, Seville, on Saturday 24 April.
• May: Coupe de France final (15 May, Stade de France), Coppa Italia final (19 May, Rome), FA Cup final (22 May, Wembley), Europa League final (26 May, Frankfurt), Women's Champions League final in Warsaw (28, 29 or 30 May, exact date to be confirmed) and DFB-Pokal final (29 May, Berlin).
• June: Conference League final (2 June, Istanbul) and Champions League final (5 June, Madrid). The Nations League Finals are pencilled in for June, with dates and host to be confirmed.
• June to July: Africa Cup of Nations (19 June to 17 July), Women's World Cup in Brazil (24 June to 25 July) and the Concacaf Gold Cup, whose exact dates are still to be confirmed.

2027 European football finals: the ballot is everything

For the three men's UEFA club finals, timing matters more than speed. Based on the 2026 finals, UEFA opens a public application window on uefa.com in the spring (it opened in mid to late March in 2026), then draws lots among applicants. There is no queue to beat, but if you miss the window you miss the ballot. Each finalist club also receives a large allocation, sold to its own members and season ticket holders.

The Champions League final in Madrid on 5 June is the hardest ticket of the year. For reference, official prices for the 2026 final ran from €70 to €950; the 2027 grid is to be confirmed. The Europa League and Conference League finals were much cheaper in 2026, which makes them a realistic target for neutral fans.

A summer of international football tournaments in 2027

The Women's World Cup in Brazil runs from 24 June to 25 July 2027, with 32 teams and 64 matches across eight stadiums. The Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro hosts both the opening match and the final, and the final draw takes place in Rio on 11 December 2026. For now, FIFA.com only offers a registration of interest; sale phases and prices are to be confirmed.

The Africa Cup of Nations, branded Pamoja, is shared between Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania from 19 June to 17 July 2027. Twenty-four teams will take part, but the final list of stadiums and the ticketing plan are still to be confirmed. The Gold Cup is due in June and July 2027 with 16 teams, including Saudi Arabia as a guest; Concacaf has yet to name the host, cities or dates.

Earlier in the year, the Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia already has its groups drawn, and the AFC reports that tickets are on sale.

Domestic cup finals: the 2027 football dates to know

Cup finals are often easier to plan than European nights because the dates are fixed months ahead. In England, the FA Cup final returns to Wembley on Saturday 22 May, a week before the Premier League's final day on 30 May. Across Europe, the Copa del Rey, Coupe de France, Coppa Italia and DFB-Pokal finals all take place between late April and the end of May. Tickets mostly go through the finalist clubs, with a smaller share sold by the national federations, and the finalists are only known a few weeks before each match.

Budget and travel: how to plan your football year in 2027

A few habits make a big difference in a year this busy:

1. Register early. Ballots and interest lists open long before tickets are allocated, and some close after only a few weeks.
2. Book refundable. Hotels in host cities get expensive once finalists are known, so reserve flexible rooms early and cancel if needed.
3. Think in clusters. Late May and early June stack several finals within days: Wembley, Frankfurt, Berlin, Istanbul and Madrid.
4. Budget beyond the ticket. Flights and accommodation usually cost more than a face-value seat.
5. Stay official. Most final tickets are personal and mobile. Resale platforms exist, but a ticket bought from a stranger can be cancelled.

American football in 2027

If you follow the other kind of football too, the NFL year peaks with Super Bowl LXI at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Los Angeles, on 14 February 2027; kick-off time and the halftime show are to be confirmed. The international series is still running in autumn 2026, with games in London, Paris, Madrid, Munich and Mexico City, but there will be no international regular-season game in 2027 before September.
