NFL Frankfurt 2027: nothing announced yet, and why

Frankfurt and the NFL in 2027: where things stand

Let us be straightforward: there is no Frankfurt game on the 2027 calendar, and no multi-year contract that would put one there. The NFL's German arrangements name two cities. Berlin hosts in odd years, including 2027, and Munich in even years, with a game on 15 November 2026 and another planned for 2028.

Could that change? The league has room to grow. In May 2026 the owners approved up to ten league-managed international games for 2027 and stopped clubs from shielding their home games from relocation. More games means more host cities may be needed, but no source points to Frankfurt so far. Until the NFL says otherwise, the status is simple: to be confirmed, with nothing in the pipeline.

If you want an NFL game in Germany next year, the answer is Berlin's Olympiastadion. If you can wait, Munich returns in 2028.

Frankfurt's two NFL Sundays in 2023

Frankfurt joined the International Series in 2023 with back-to-back games a week apart, each drawing roughly 50,000 fans.

The Kansas City Chiefs were the designated home team for the first game and beat Miami. A week later the Indianapolis Colts edged New England in a low-scoring game. Those are the only NFL regular-season games played in the city to date.

Deutsche Bank Park: getting to Frankfurt's NFL venue

The stadium, known locally as the Waldstadion and home of Eintracht Frankfurt, sits in the city forest south of the Main. The NFL set-up held just over 50,000, below the football capacity of around 58,000.

• S-Bahn S7, S8 or S9 to Frankfurt-Stadion: then about 15 minutes on foot through the woods.
• Tram 21 to Stadion: stops close to the ground.
• Shuttle buses from the Hauptbahnhof: used on major event days.

Even without an NFL game, the stadium has a big date in 2027: it hosts the Europa League final on 26 May 2027. Our Europa League final guide explains how that ticket ballot works.

If the NFL returns to Frankfurt: how tickets would work

No ticketing has been announced, but the system for German games is well established. Sales go through Ticketmaster, and you need a free NFL Ticketmaster account created via the NFL's international site. The league opens a registration page for each host city, and those who sign up receive the sale links.

In 2026 European sales ran in three steps: an American Express presale in late May and early June, hospitality shortly after, then the general sale in July. Prices are shown all-in, with fees included, and tickets are delivered to your phone shortly before kickoff. Any Frankfurt windows or prices would be to be confirmed.

Be wary of anyone selling Frankfurt NFL tickets for 2027 today. With no game announced, such listings are speculative at best. If you want to know the moment that changes, turn on our alert.

When an NFL Frankfurt 2027 announcement could come

The NFL follows a predictable rhythm. Host cities and home teams tend to be named around Super Bowl week, so February 2027 for the coming season. Matchups and dates follow with the full schedule, usually in mid-May. International games are played between September and November, so nothing abroad will happen in 2027 before September.

NFL in Frankfurt: advice for fans travelling from abroad

Frankfurt has one of Europe's busiest airports and excellent rail links, which made it an easy trip for British, Irish and North American fans in 2023. If you were hoping to repeat that in 2027, the practical move is to switch to Berlin, or to London, which has the most games outside the United States.
