NFL Madrid 2027: the Bernabéu deal and what it means

NFL Madrid 2027: a deal on paper, a date still missing

On 2 February 2026 the NFL, Real Madrid, Madrid city council and the regional government of the Comunidad de Madrid signed a multi-year agreement to keep bringing regular-season games to the Bernabéu. Its length has not been published. Rafa De los Santos, who leads the NFL in Spain, has said the intention is to play in Madrid in 2027 as well, but the league has not finalised it. The city contributes 1.5 million euros of sponsorship per game.

So Madrid sits in a middle category: more solid than cities with no agreement at all, but not yet on the confirmed list for 2027 alongside Berlin, Mexico City and London. The 2027 date, opponent and kick-off are to be confirmed. Host cities are usually named around Super Bowl week in February, and matchups in May. Madrid's NFL record

The opener, the first NFL game ever played in Spain, drew 78,610 people, the largest crowd published for the stadium in NFL configuration, and needed overtime to settle. The Miami Dolphins were the hosts, fitting given they are one of three clubs, with the Chicago Bears and Kansas City Chiefs, that hold the NFL's marketing rights in Spain. The Atlanta Falcons host the second game.

Reaching the Bernabéu for the NFL in Madrid

Real Madrid's rebuilt home holds around 83,000 for football and sits right on the Paseo de la Castellana, in the middle of the city. Few big stadiums are this easy to reach.

• Metro line 10 to Santiago Bernabéu, which drops you at the stadium.
• Nuevos Ministerios (metro lines 6, 8 and 10, plus Cercanías commuter trains): about ten minutes on foot. Line 8 runs direct from the airport.
• Lima on line 10 and Cuzco further north are useful for avoiding the busiest station after the game.

Buying NFL Madrid tickets for a Bernabéu game

Official tickets go through Ticketmaster using a free NFL Ticketmaster account, created at nfl.com/international/ticketaccount. For the 2026 game the sequence was: American Express presale from 29 May to 4 June, hospitality on 5 June, and the general sale at midday on 9 July 2026. Prices were shown all-in, and child prices were available. A 2027 game, if confirmed, should follow a similar calendar, with exact windows to be confirmed.

• Open your NFL account well before the presale.
• Tickets are digital and tied to your account.
• Resale offers can appear before tickets have been issued; be cautious and favour official channels.

Our Madrid alert will flag every step as soon as it is announced.

Budget and planning for an NFL weekend in Madrid

The 2026 Bernabéu price range is shown on this page; 2027 prices are to be confirmed. Hotels along the Castellana are the most convenient, so expect them to go first on a game weekend. Book refundable rooms early and confirm flights once the date is public. The 3:30pm local kick-off for 2026 meant an evening finish with time for dinner, Spanish style, afterwards.
