Spanish cup finalCopa del Rey Final 2027: La Cartuja, Seville, Saturday 24 April
The 2027 Copa del Rey final will be played on Saturday 24 April at the Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville, a ground holding around 70,000. The finalists will not be known until the semi-finals are over, and the kick-off time is still to be confirmed. Here is how tickets usually work and how to get ready.
Copa del Rey final 2027: date and venue fixed, teams to come
Spain's cup final has a fixed date and a fixed home for 2027. What it does not have yet is a pair of teams. Here is the situation as of October 2026:
- Date: Saturday 24 April 2027.
- Venue: Estadio de La Cartuja, Seville, capacity around 70,000.
- Kick-off: to be confirmed.
- Finalists: to be confirmed once the semi-finals have been played.
- Ticket prices: to be confirmed by the federation and the two clubs.
La Cartuja hosts the final under a multi-year agreement between the Spanish football federation (RFEF) and the regional government of Andalusia, which covers the finals from 2026 to 2028. Seville is therefore the settled destination, whoever reaches the showpiece.
Why a late-April Copa del Rey final matters for your diary
Unlike the English and German cup finals, which round off the season in late May, the Copa del Rey final lands in the thick of the run-in. LaLiga still has several weekends to go after 24 April, with the league season closing on the weekend of 29-30 May 2027, and Spanish sides still in Europe may be juggling knockout ties at the same time.
For travelling fans that has two consequences. First, the gap between the semi-finals and the final is short, so the window for booking travel once your team qualifies is tight. Second, Seville in late April is busy: the city's spring calendar draws plenty of visitors, so hotel prices can climb quickly. If you follow a team with a realistic chance of going deep in the cup, a refundable room booked early is cheap insurance.
If you are planning a wider football trip in spring 2027, our guide to the season's big fixtures lists the derbies and title-race games around the same period.
How tickets for a Copa del Rey final are distributed
There is no open general sale in the usual sense. In recent seasons the bulk of the seats at the final has gone to the two finalists, with a share kept by the RFEF for the federation family, sponsors, regional federations and institutional guests. The exact split for 2027 is to be confirmed.
In practice, most supporters get in through their club:
- Season-ticket holders and club members (socios at many Spanish clubs) normally have priority, often ranked by seniority or by attendance at earlier cup rounds.
- Remaining club allocation may then go to registered supporters' groups (peñas) or wider membership schemes.
- Any general sale, if there is one, tends to be small and to sell out within minutes.
Clubs announce their procedure only once they are through, usually within days of the semi-final second leg. That is why it pays to switch on the ticket alert now rather than waiting for April.
Buying Copa del Rey tickets safely: names, IDs and resale
Final tickets are often issued in the holder's name, and Spanish clubs increasingly deliver them through their own apps. Stewards can check that the name on the ticket matches your ID, and a ticket transferred outside the official system can be cancelled.
Resale platforms do exist, and a cup final with two big clubs will appear on them at prices well above face value. Before going down that route, keep in mind:
- a named or app-based ticket may simply not work if it has been resold outside the club's own transfer tool;
- listings before the finalists are known are speculative, as the seller does not hold a ticket yet;
- your rights as a buyer depend on the platform's own guarantee, not on the RFEF or the clubs.
The safest route is always the club's official sale, followed by any official exchange or transfer tool the club provides.
Getting to La Cartuja for the Copa del Rey final
The stadium sits on the Isla de la Cartuja, north-west of Seville's historic centre, on the far bank of the Guadalquivir. It is a large, open bowl built as an athletics venue, so sightlines from the upper rows are distant; the lower tiers are the ones to aim for if your club offers a choice.
- From Madrid: high-speed AVE trains run from Madrid Atocha to Seville Santa Justa in around two and a half hours, and they fill up fast on final weekend.
- From Barcelona and the north: direct flights to Seville airport, or AVE via Madrid.
- From the UK and Ireland: direct flights to Seville in season, otherwise Málaga or Madrid and onwards by train.
- On matchday: expect special bus services and long walks; allow plenty of time, as the stadium is not in the city centre.
Fans of the two finalists are usually given separate fan zones in town before the match. Details for 2027 are to be confirmed.
Where the Copa del Rey fits in Europe's 2027 cup calendar
The Spanish final opens the cup-final season. Germany follows with the DFB-Pokal final in Berlin on 29 May, Italy has the Coppa Italia final in Rome on 19 May, and the European club finals arrive at the end of May and early June. The biggest of them, the Champions League final on 5 June 2027, is in Madrid at the Metropolitano, so a Spanish football spring could include both.
