Coppa Italia Final 2027: Stadio Olimpico, Rome, Wednesday 19 May

The 2027 Coppa Italia final will be played on Wednesday 19 May at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, which holds around 70,000. The date was chosen to avoid a clash with the Italian Open tennis next door. The finalists, the kick-off time and ticket prices are all still to be confirmed.

Coppa Italia final 2027: where things stand in October 2026

  • Date: Wednesday 19 May 2027.
  • Venue: Stadio Olimpico, Rome, capacity around 70,000.
  • Kick-off: to be confirmed.
  • Finalists: to be confirmed after the semi-finals.
  • Ticket prices: to be confirmed.

The final is organised by Lega Serie A, which set the date in coordination with the Internazionali d'Italia. The tennis tournament is played at the Foro Italico, the sports complex that surrounds the Olimpico, and its final weekend is 16 May 2027. Holding the football three days later keeps the two events, and their crowds, apart.

A midweek Coppa Italia final in the middle of the run-in

Unlike the FA Cup or the DFB-Pokal, the Italian cup final is often a midweek fixture, and 2027 follows that pattern. Serie A still has matches to play afterwards, with the league season ending on the weekend of 29-30 May 2027. A team reaching the final may also be involved in Europe, where the Europa League final is on 26 May and the Champions League final on 5 June.

For supporters this means a Wednesday evening in Rome, with travel either side. If you live in Milan, Turin or Naples, a same-day return by high-speed train is possible but tight after a late finish. Most travelling fans will want at least one night in the city.

The Olimpico: Coppa Italia host and club home ground

The Olimpico is the permanent home of the final and also the home ground of both Roma and Lazio. That creates a quirk: if one of the Rome clubs reaches the final, it effectively plays in its own stadium, and in a city where the derby divides families, a Rome team in the final changes the atmosphere of the whole week.

The stadium is a wide bowl with a running track, so views from the curve, the ends behind the goals, are distant but loud; that is where the most committed supporters of each finalist will stand. The tribuna seats along the sides offer better views at higher prices. For more on the Rome derby and other Italian rivalries, see our guide to the season's big fixtures.

How Coppa Italia final tickets are sold

Ticketing for the final is handled through the official sales channel designated by Lega Serie A, with each finalist receiving its own allocation, usually one curva each plus part of the side stands. Clubs give priority to their season-ticket holders and members, then may open a wider sale to supporters. A general sale for remaining seats can follow, but it is usually limited. The detailed process for 2027 is to be confirmed once the finalists are known.

Italian football tickets are nominative: each ticket carries the holder's name and you must show matching ID at the turnstiles. Away-end sales can come with extra conditions, such as residence restrictions or club membership requirements, set by the authorities and clubs for each match. Read the conditions of sale carefully before you pay.

To avoid missing a short sales window, activate the alert and we will tell you when the clubs publish their procedures.

Second-hand Coppa Italia tickets: proceed with care

Because tickets are personal, buying one second-hand is riskier in Italy than in many countries. A ticket that has not been formally transferred to your name through the official change-of-holder process may be refused at the gate. Resale platforms do exist and will list the final, but their guarantee is a matter between you and the platform, not Lega Serie A or the clubs.

Be especially wary of listings before the semi-finals are over: no one can sell a seat in a specific curva before knowing which club it belongs to.

Getting to Rome for the Coppa Italia final and planning your trip

  • Within Italy: high-speed trains link Rome Termini with Milan, Turin, Florence and Naples; book early, as finalists' supporters travel en masse.
  • From the UK and Ireland: frequent flights to Rome Fiumicino and Ciampino.
  • From North America: direct and one-stop flights to Fiumicino.
  • To the stadium: the Olimpico is north of the centre, beside the Tiber; trams and buses run to the Foro Italico area, and many fans simply walk along the river.

Spring is a busy season in Rome, so hotels should be booked early, ideally with free cancellation. If you want to build a longer football tour, our Football 2027 hub lists the other cup finals, including the DFB-Pokal final in Berlin ten days later.
