Brazil 2027Women's World Cup 2027 in Brazil: tickets, dates and host cities
The FIFA Women's World Cup comes to Brazil from 24 June to 25 July 2027, the first edition ever staged in South America. Thirty-two teams will play 64 matches across eight stadiums, with the Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro hosting both the opening game and the final. Tickets are not on sale yet: FIFA is only taking registrations of interest.
Women's World Cup 2027 in Brazil at a glance
This is the tournament's second edition in the expanded 32-team format, and the schedule runs for just over a month. Brazil, as hosts, kick things off on Thursday 24 June 2027 at the Maracanã, and the same stadium stages the final on Sunday 25 July 2027. Few grounds carry more weight: the Maracanã hosted the men's World Cup final in 2014 and remains the emotional centre of Brazilian football.
- Dates: 24 June to 25 July 2027
- Teams and matches: 32 teams, 64 matches
- Host cities: eight
- Final draw: 11 December 2026, Rio de Janeiro
- Kick-off times: to be confirmed
For British fans, it means evening kick-offs in Brazil will often land late at night at home; for American viewers the time difference is far kinder. Either way, the exact match times are still to be confirmed.
The eight Women's World Cup stadiums and what each one hosts
FIFA has spread the tournament across the country, from the Atlantic north-east to the far south. Every host city stages at least seven matches, including at least one knockout tie.
- Estádio do Maracanã, Rio de Janeiro: opening match, group games, knockouts and the final
- Arena Itaquera (Neo Química Arena), São Paulo: group games and knockouts, including a semi-final and the third-place match
- Estádio Mineirão, Belo Horizonte: matches up to the quarter-finals
- Arena Castelão, Fortaleza: matches up to the quarter-finals
- Estádio Nacional, Brasília: matches up to the round of 16
- Estádio Beira-Rio, Porto Alegre: matches up to the round of 16
- Arena de Pernambuco, Recife: matches up to the round of 16
- Arena Fonte Nova, Salvador: matches up to the round of 16
Official capacities for the tournament have not been published by FIFA, so treat any figure you see as to be confirmed. What matters more for planning is distance: Porto Alegre and Fortaleza are well over a day apart by road, so following one team through the groups usually means domestic flights.
Brazil's group games and the Women's World Cup opening night
The hosts already know where they will play. Brazil open at the Maracanã on 24 June, move to Arena Itaquera in São Paulo on 29 June and finish their group in Brasília at the Estádio Nacional on 4 July. Their opponents will only be known after the draw, so the opening fixture is listed as Brazil against a team to be confirmed.
Expect these three nights to be the hardest tickets of the group stage. Home crowds in Brazil sell out big occasions quickly, and a Seleção opener at the Maracanã will draw interest from far beyond the women's game.
Who has qualified for the Women's World Cup so far
Qualification is still running. According to reports compiled at the time of writing, 18 of the 32 places are filled, among them Brazil as hosts, Argentina, Colombia, Australia, Japan, Korea Republic, China PR, New Zealand, Morocco, France, Germany, Spain and Denmark. That list has not been checked against an official FIFA table, so confirm it on FIFA.com before booking anything around a particular team.
Fourteen spots remain: further European places (including play-offs), the CONCACAF entries, the rest of South America and the inter-confederation play-offs in late 2026 or early 2027. That is why England, Scotland, Wales, the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, the United States and Canada are all still to be confirmed at this stage. If you are waiting on your own team, switch on the alert and we will tell you when tickets open, whatever the outcome.
How Women's World Cup tickets will work
The only official route is FIFA.com/tickets. Right now FIFA is collecting registrations of interest; no sales phase, ballot date or price list has been announced as of 9 October 2026. Registering costs nothing and is the sensible first step, because FIFA normally contacts registered fans first when a phase opens.
- Create or update your FIFA account and register interest for Brazil 2027.
- Wait for the draw on 11 December 2026 before committing to specific cities.
- Watch for the first sales phase, whose dates and format are to be confirmed.
Prices are to be confirmed. Brazilian press has reported discounted tickets for students, older fans and young people on low incomes, but FIFA has not published this, so treat it as unconfirmed. Resale platforms exist, yet World Cup tickets are usually tied to a named holder and a FIFA account; buying outside the official channel can leave you with a ticket that will not scan.
The Women's World Cup draw on 11 December 2026
The final draw takes place on 11 December 2026 at the Museum of Modern Art (MAM) in Rio de Janeiro, and Netflix has said it will stream it. The play-off draw was held on 20 August 2026. Once the groups are set, the full match schedule by team becomes clear, and that is the moment most travelling fans start booking flights and hotels.
Planning a Women's World Cup trip to Brazil
Late June and July is winter in Brazil, which feels very different from city to city: mild and occasionally cool in Porto Alegre, warm and humid in Salvador, Recife and Fortaleza. A few practical points:
- Check passport validity and Brazil's entry rules for your nationality well ahead of travel.
- Base yourself in one city if your team's fixtures allow it, and fly between regions rather than drive.
- Book refundable accommodation before the draw, then adjust once the schedule is known.
- Rio and São Paulo have the best international flight links from London and from US hubs.
The summer of 2027 is crowded. The Africa Cup of Nations in East Africa overlaps almost exactly, and the Concacaf Gold Cup is due in June and July too. Our Football 2027 calendar puts every major date side by side, and you can start the year with the Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia in January.
