Europa League Final 2027: Frankfurt Tickets and Travel Guide

The 2027 Europa League final will be played on Wednesday 26 May 2027 at Stadion Frankfurt, the home of Eintracht Frankfurt, in Frankfurt am Main. UEFA confirmed the venue back in May 2024. Kick-off time, capacity for the final and ticket sale dates are all still to be confirmed.

Europa League final 2027 in brief

  • Date: Wednesday 26 May 2027
  • Stadium: Stadion Frankfurt, also known as Frankfurt Arena or Deutsche Bank Park
  • City: Frankfurt am Main, Germany
  • Awarded: 22 May 2024, by the UEFA Executive Committee meeting in Dublin
  • Capacity for the final: to be confirmed
  • Kick-off: to be confirmed

It is a midweek final, as is traditional for the Europa League, and it comes ten days before the Champions League final in Madrid. UEFA has not yet published the seating capacity for the match, which is usually lower than the stadium's league capacity once media and security areas are set up.

Why Frankfurt suits a Europa League final

Frankfurt is one of the easiest cities in Europe to reach. Its airport is a major international hub with direct flights from across the UK, Ireland and North America, and the city sits at the heart of Germany's high-speed rail network. The stadium was one of the venues for Euro 2024, so the city has recent experience of hosting large international crowds.

The ground lies in the woods south-west of the city centre, between downtown and the airport. On a normal matchday most fans arrive by S-Bahn to the Stadion station or by tram, followed by a short walk through the forest. Expect the same on final night, only busier.

The home club adds another layer of interest. Eintracht Frankfurt's supporters are known across Europe for travelling in huge numbers, and if their side were still in the competition in spring, demand in the city would be enormous. Whether they take part in the 2026-27 Europa League is not something we cover here; check UEFA's official standings.

Europa League knockout dates leading to Frankfurt

After the league phase, the Europa League knockout rounds follow this calendar:

  • Knockout play-offs: 18 and 25 February 2027
  • Round of 16: 11 and 18 March 2027
  • Quarter-finals: 8 and 15 April 2027
  • Semi-finals: 29 April and 6 May 2027
  • Final: 26 May 2027, Frankfurt

Knockout ties are played on Thursdays, so the finalists will be known on the evening of 6 May. That gives the two clubs less than three weeks to sell their allocations, and travelling supporters a tight window to book flights and hotels.

How Europa League final tickets are sold

UEFA has not announced the 2027 process yet, so the 2026 final serves as our model. Sales ran exclusively through uefa.com, with a public application window opening on 20 March 2026. Applications were not processed in order of arrival: UEFA held a ballot after the window closed, so there is no advantage in being first online.

  • Press reports mention a maximum of two tickets per applicant.
  • Tickets are mobile and personal, and cannot be transferred freely.
  • Each finalist received up to 11,000 tickets in 2026, sold through its own channels.
  • The cheapest Fans First category was reserved for the finalists' supporters.
  • Press reports describe an official face-value resale platform for unsuccessful ballot applicants.

In total, 27,500 of the 37,500 tickets for the 2026 final went to fans of the two clubs and the general public. The 2027 dates are to be confirmed; turn on our alert and we will tell you when the window opens.

Reference Europa League final prices from 2026

Frankfurt prices are still to be confirmed. For a sense of scale, UEFA's official prices for the 2026 Europa League final in Istanbul were €40 for Fans First (finalists' allocation only), €65 for Category 3, €160 for Category 2 and €240 for Category 1. That makes this final considerably cheaper than the Champions League showpiece, which is one reason the ballot is heavily oversubscribed.

Your bigger costs will be travel and accommodation. Frankfurt is a business city with a dense hotel market, but trade fairs can fill rooms quickly, so book something refundable early.

A sensible approach is to apply in the ballot as soon as the window opens, reserve a cancellable room at the same time, and only buy flights once you know whether your application has succeeded. If it fails and your club is not involved, the official resale facility for unsuccessful applicants, if UEFA runs it again, is the next place to look before considering anything else.

Europa League travel tips for British and American fans

From the UK, direct flights to Frankfurt are frequent and short. Rail is a realistic alternative too, changing in Brussels or Paris onto German or French high-speed services. From the US, Frankfurt is one of the best-connected airports in Europe, and a stopover here combines naturally with the DFB-Pokal final in Berlin on Saturday 29 May.

  • Leave plenty of time for public transport after the match; queues at the stadium station can be long.
  • Late May evenings in Frankfurt are usually mild, but showers are common.
  • Check your passport and entry requirements for Germany well in advance.

Buying Europa League final tickets safely

Because tickets are personal, a seat bought from a stranger can be cancelled without notice, leaving you outside the ground. Resale platforms exist and list final tickets at prices well above face value, but the buyer carries the risk. The safe routes are the UEFA ballot, your club's allocation if it reaches the final, and the official resale facility if it runs again. We are an independent guide, not connected to UEFA.
