NFL Berlin 2027: what is confirmed and what is still to come

Berlin's NFL status for 2027, in plain terms

This is not speculation. When the NFL set out its German plans, it fixed an alternating pattern: Munich in 2026 and 2028, Berlin in 2025, 2027 and 2029. The 2027 game in the capital is therefore locked in as a city and a year. What nobody can tell you yet is the weekend, the kickoff time or which two teams will be on the field.

That puts Berlin in a stronger position than most European cities. Paris, Dublin and Rio have nothing confirmed for 2027, Madrid's multi-year plan has no fixed years, and Munich sits the season out. Our NFL Europe 2027 hub compares every city side by side.

It also fits a busier global calendar. In May 2026 the owners approved up to ten league-managed international games for 2027, up from a previous maximum of eight, and removed the right of clubs to protect their home games from relocation abroad.

Berlin's NFL record so far

The capital has staged a single regular-season game, and it was a memorable one.

The Atlanta Falcons were the designated home side, and the game needed overtime before Indianapolis won it. Berlin had no game in 2026; Germany's 2026 fixture is in Munich, where the Lions host the Patriots on 15 November, covered on our Munich page.

The Olympiastadion: getting to Berlin's NFL venue

Built for the 1936 Olympics and home to Hertha BSC and the German Cup final, the stadium lies in the west of the city. Its football capacity is around 74,500, and the NFL layout held 72,207 in 2025.

• S-Bahn S3 or S9 to Olympiastadion: the closest station, about five minutes on foot from the gates.
• U-Bahn U2 to Olympia-Stadion: roughly ten minutes' walk, and handy if you are staying around Zoo, Wittenbergplatz or Potsdamer Platz.

Both lines get very busy after the final whistle. Splitting your group between the two, or lingering for half an hour, is the easiest way to avoid the crush.

NFL Berlin 2027 tickets: register first, buy later

For games in Germany the official seller is Ticketmaster, and only holders of a free NFL Ticketmaster account, opened through the NFL's international website, can buy. Once the league publishes its Berlin page for 2027, you will also be able to register your interest there and receive the sale links directly.

The 2026 sales in Europe followed a clear sequence: an American Express presale in late May and early June, hospitality packages shortly afterwards and the general sale in July. Expect something similar for Berlin, but the 2027 windows are to be confirmed. Prices are quoted all-in since 2026, and tickets arrive on your phone shortly before the game. No Berlin price list has been published for 2027.

Treat resale with caution. Unofficial listings can appear before a single ticket has been sold, mobile tickets are linked to accounts, and you have little recourse if the transfer never arrives. Stick to the official channel and set up our alert so you hear as soon as the windows open.

The NFL Berlin calendar to watch

• Around Super Bowl week, February 2027: the NFL usually confirms host cities and home teams. Super Bowl LXI is on 14 February 2027.
• Mid-May 2027: the full schedule normally arrives, revealing the Berlin matchup and date.
• Late May to July 2027: likely sales period, based on 2026, to be confirmed.
• September to November 2027: the window in which every international game is played.

Flying to Berlin's NFL game from the UK, Ireland and North America

For British and Irish fans, Berlin is an easy city break with plenty of direct flights, and the weekend can double as a sightseeing trip. North American visitors often fold the game into a longer European itinerary. Either way, wait for the confirmed date before booking non-refundable travel, then move quickly on hotels: an NFL weekend fills the city.

Expect autumn weather and an open-air bowl, so bring warm layers. German crowds wear jerseys from right across the league rather than just the two teams involved, which is part of the appeal.

One note on who we are: this is an independent guide, not affiliated with the NFL or the Berlin authorities. We report announced facts and label everything else to be confirmed. Frankfurt fans should check our Frankfurt page, where nothing is planned for 2027.
